Resistance 3 Co-op and Story Detailed

Published by:

The Resistance series has long been one of the PlayStation 3′s flagship exclusive series.  One of the only series of games brave enough to have taken on Gears of War head-on twice.  Insomniac Games is working hard to make this game a masterpiece and have released a slew of new details on the PlayStation Blog.

Story Details:

As previously reported *SPOILER* Nathan Hale took a dirt after teammate Joseph Capelli was forced to put him down.  Because of this action, Capelli was dishonorably discharged.  The story starts four years later as Capelli is living in hiding with his wife (Nathan Hale’s Stepsister) Susan and his son Jack, in Haven Oklahoma, laying low to avoid Crimeran Death squads.

He is contacted by Dr. Malikov (yep, he still lives) and offered a chance to get back at the Crimera.  Resistance 3 will take Capelli on an epic journey across the country to New York City.

Gameplay:

The Weapon wheel returns.  Weapons are also upgradeable this time around and “will give your weapons new abilities and power”.

Co-op:

Insomniac is focusing on a two player co-op through the single-player campaign.  Co-op can be played online or split-screen. Insomniac also teases a more “focused, progression-based multiplayer experience” which they’ll explain at a later date.

All in all I’m impressed with how this game is developing and look forward to it’s Fall 2011 release
