Capcom defends PS3 Street Fighter x Tekken Exclusive Characters

Published by:

When it was announced that the PlayStation 3 version of Street Fighter x Tekken would receive exclusive characters, Capcom endure backlash from the Xbox 360 community.

Capcom’s Senior Vice President, Christian Svensson, defended the decision to give PlayStation 3 and PS Vita exclusive characters in a response from a fan created thread on Capcom Unity.

The fan asked, “Are fans that play Xbox going to get ignored in Street Fighter X Tekken like NetherRealm Studios did with Mortal Kombat?”

Svensson response was, “Guys, we’ve done lots of exclusive content on Xbox 360 platforms (DR1, DR2, Lost Planet, etc.),” he said. “We spread the love around from time to time. Nothing more I can say on the topic for the near term.”

Street Fighter x Tekken is due out on PlayStation 3, PS Vita and Xbox 360 in 2012.

Sony Announces Region Free PS Vita

Published by:

Sony announced that PlayStation Vita will be region-free. This means gamers can get their hands on PS Vita when it launches in Japan on December 17 and enjoy playing localized games on it.

Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, has urged those interested in getting the Japanese PS Vita to wait rather than dish out additional money.

“There are people who are interested in importing the Japanese version of PS Vita from outside Japan, but I personally do not recommend that.”

“Sorry I’m not explaining well, but from my experience owning both US and J game consoles of everything, there tend to be minor nuisances. Like inconsistency between the use of x and o buttons between system software and games.”

PlayStation Vita To Support External Batteries

PlayStation Vita will support an external battery for those who fear their portable will shut down after three to five hours of gaming.

In speaking with IGN, head of Sony Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, said, “If you have noticed, we have just announced the peripherals for PS Vita. And one of the peripherals is the external battery. That extends the battery life of PS Vita.”

“So if you’re flying from New York to San Francisco, or vice versa, you have no concerns if you have an additional external battery.”

We reported Wednesday that PS Vita battery life will last for 3 to 5 hours while gaming, and up to nine hours in standby mode or playing music.

SCEJ President confirmed in an interview with Reuters that there is no Monster Hunter 4 for PlayStation Vita unless Capcom changes their mind.

“I don’t know, you will have to ask Capcom,” responded Kawano when questioned if Monster Hunter 4 would make it to PS Vita.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd has sold almost five million units in Japan only, and it would be a surprising move from Capcom if Monster Hunter 4 did not make land on PS Vita.
