Mass Effect 3 PS3 Demo To Be Available In February

Bioware confirmed Mass Effect 3 demo will be available for PlayStation 3 gamers on February 14 via PSN.

The demo will start with the game’s opening sequence as the Reapers begin their invasion of Earth. Mass Effect 3′s new multiplayer feature will also be available to play.

Those who activated their online pass for Battlefield 3 can download the demo on February 14, and the rest of the public will get access on February 17.

Executive producer Casey Hudson commented: “We are excited to be able to give gamers an expansive demo that will put them right on the front lines of this all-out galactic war.”

“The entire scale of the game is bigger than anything we’ve ever done. With its intense action, deep customisation and raw emotional power, Mass Effect 3 will deliver a spectacular action RPG experience to fans of the series and newcomers alike.”

Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Mode Confirmed

It has been rumored that Mass Effect 3 will have a multiplayer mode. There have been reports that Mass Effect’s multiplayer would be an online co-op mode. A South African retailer listed the sci-fi blockbuster with an “online multiplayer pass” last week.

Mass Effect 3 Project Director Casey Hudson confirmed the rumors in the latest issue of PC Powerplay that Mass Effect 3 will have multiplayer.

“That’s right – Mass Effect 3 is getting multiplayer!” the magazine reads. “We travel to BioWare’s office in Edmonton for hands-on time with the series’ first foray into online gameplay, and chat with Mass Effect Series Producer and Mass Effect 3 Project Director Casey Hudson about the decision to go multiplayer in the epic battle for the galaxy.”

Mass Effect 3 PS3 confirmed by Sony Russia

It looks like a Sony Russia rep messed up big time. A Tweet on the SCEE Russia Twitter feed pretty much confirmed Mass Effect 3, according to internet translations.

Speculation has been rife since BioWare revealed that teaser trailer for its as-yet-unnamed new game – which is set to be officially revealed via the SpikeTV Awards in the US on Dec 11 at 8pm PST. But it seems Sony Russia has beat them to it.

According to Ripten, the crazy Russian symbols in the post (pictured) translated to: “Company #BioWare Award for #VideoGameAwards showed a teaser, in which we can see the first footage #MassEffect 3″.

The snapshot on this page is of the post before the whole account was snappily killed off, which does nothing but raise even more eyebrows. It must have been important for such a critical response.
