SSX Has Been Pushed Back 2 Weeks

Published by:

EA has announced that the release date for SSX has been pushed back. The snowboarding game was originally scheduled for a release on February 14, and is now scheduled in the U.S. on February 28, and in Europe on March 2.

SSX Creative Director, Todd Batty, commented on the delay. “Over the course of more than 10 years of making games I have not worked on a single project where our team did not wish, coming down the home stretch, that we could have just a bit more time.”

“Time to do all the little things that may not be noticeable during the first hour or two playing the game, but are appreciated over the course of days, weeks, months and beyond.”

“SSX was one of the games that always took the time to do exactly that. There is a reason why Tricky and SSX3 are still among the highest rated games of all time, and it is because even playing them today they still stand the test of time,” he added.

“Our goal from Day 1 was to re-launch this amazing franchise with a new SSX game that could live up to that legacy.”

GAME To Sell Digital PS3 Titles And DLC

Published by:

GAME has announced a deal with Sony Europe today that will see the video game store chain selling downloadable PS3 games, various DLC and PlayStation Plus subscriptions to customers in-store. Around 42 GAME and Gamestation shops will start selling the various digital items from today but by as soon as mid-September, GAME expects all of its 620 stores in the UK to offer what they are calling the “full range” of over 50 PS3 games. So how exactly do customers get the goods and how much are they going to be sold for? All is revealed in the next paragraph.

DLC such as the Killzone 3 Steel Rain Map Pack will be sold in the deal.

We shall begin with how you obtain the digital content you have paid for in store. You will receive a 12-digit code on either the receipt, via e-mail or via text message and once you have this 12-digit it is redeemed online on your PS3 so it is a similar process to how you add money to your account with a PlayStation Network card. Pricing all depends on which title you are buying or buying DLC for with GAME saying that “Every product is individually displayed and marketed with a specific price point”, so for example, the God of War Collection will cost £24.99, whereas the Killzone 3 Steel Rain Map pack will cost £3.99.

It will be interesting to see if this idea takes off and GAME clearly has a lot of faith in the idea as they hope to expand the deal for selling digital DLC in-store to Europe.
