Virtua Tennis 4 announced for PS3

Shown at Sony’s Gamescom press conference, Sega is bringing the latest in their hit tennis series to PlayStation 3. That’s correct! Virtua Tennis 4 is coming to PS3. No word on if it’s multiplatform quite yet. We do know that the PlayStation 3 version will support both 3D and PlayStation Move, though. It’s out next year. Stay tuned.

Sony’s announced a Japanese release date for Gran Turismo 5 of November 3 – along with a special ‘Racing Pack’ bundle, which comes with a blue PS3. The Racing Pack contains a 160 gigabyte PS3 and a copy of the game and a Dual Shock 3 controller. Everything’s a cool “Titanium Blue,” apparently designed in the image of a muffler (ha…muffler). Mass Effect 2 Leaps to PlayStation 3

PS3 owners will have to pretend the original Mass Effect never happened, but if they’ve always wanted a crack at Mass Effect 2, BioWare says it’s coming to Sony’s console next January. The game, which debuted last January, had been exclusive to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Windows PCs. BioWare confirmed plans to release Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 today at GDC Europe 2010,.

  At the ongoing Gamescom 2010 convention in Germany, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO Andrew House announced two new PlayStation 3 models. These two new PlayStation 3 models comprises of 160GB HDD PS3 model for $299. Another model is the 320GB PS3 with PlayStation Move controller when it launches on Sept 19. Playstation 4 games in development says Sony

The most recent edition of Game Informer Australia magazine is claiming that Sony has told them that developers are preparing games for the currently unanounced Playstation 4.  The existence of the Playstation 4 has been predicted by many gaming-industry analysts, and is said to be releasing in 2012. This is no means a direct announcement of the new device, but it is an indication. 

NHL 11 demo headed to PS3 next week

Last year’s NHL 10 was well-received by both gamers and critics alike, and next week, people will get their first chance to play this year’s follow up.  A playable demo will be available for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 17th; players will have a chance to experience “Hockey Ultimate Team” and “Battle For the Cup,” which will pit the Chicago Blackhawks.

SOCOM 4 for PS3 Delayed‎

Zipper Interactive has announced that their squad-based third-person shooter for the PS3, SOCOM 4, has been delayed until 2011.  The game was originally scheduled to launch sometime this Fall but was held back so that the developers can “deliver the best and most immersive SOCOM game we possibly can.” This moves SOCOM 4 away from competing with the likes of Halo: Reach, Call.

Seems like folks are always having problems after they upgrade their PS3 firmware, but we can’t say we’ve experienced any problems.
