More information has been found that suggests a new Need For Speed title is in development at EA Gothenburg.
The studio posted a job advertisement for a Senior Vehicle Artist.
“As the vehicle is almost always located in the center of player’s view, it’s imperative that the vehicle looks sensational at all times,” reads the job ad.
“This roles requires the artist to have a passion for cars to have strong artistic ability and technical knowledge to help further the overall quality of the vehicles in-game.”
Frank Gibeau, president of EA Labels, has been outspoken about the PlayStation 4 in recent weeks. He has more to offer about Sony’s PS4 and believes that it will stimulate growth for the videogames industry.Read more...
EA Labels president Frank Gibeau is claiming that the PlayStation 4 will launch in 2013. In a interview with Bloomberg, Gibeau commented that hardware and software sales begin to decline towards the end of a console lifecycle. He said that hardware is coming “in about a year’s time” and he is not able to reveal the real names of the next-gen consoles since he signed a NDA.
EA confirmed that Battlefield 3: Armored Kill will be released on September 4.
PS3 Premium members will have the first opportunity to download the DLC, and a week later it will be available on Xbox 360 and PC. Non-premium members will have to wait until September 18.
Armored Kill will offer new tanks, ATVs, mobile artillery, four new maps, and the Tank Superiority Mode.
Remedy Entertainment, the company behind Max Mayne and Alan Wake, said that the PS4 is “a quantum leap” over the current consoles.
Remedy has already begun work on the PlayStation 4 and promise gamers the technology is far beyond what the PS3 can offer.
“One wonders all the time,” said Oskari Hakkinen, head of franchise development. “Can the new consoles really be that much better than the previous? Rest assured: they are, it is a quantum leap.”
Hakkinen confirmed that he haas already assign “a relatively small team on a next-generation project.”
Sony’s plan to introduce an 80-inch XBR LED television set with 4K resolution has created speculation over PlayStation 4′s technology. It is believed that Sony is pushing the 4K strong to prepare for the PS4 release. The company has started selling 4K Blu-ray players and a source tells us the PS4 will support 4K resolution playback.
Sony is hoping that they can have consumers upgrade to 4K TVs when they purchase a PS4, similar to how the PlayStation 3 did with Blu-ray.
