MCV is claiming that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 will be announced at this year’s E3. According to them Sony is looking to take some thunder away from Wii U launch. We previously reported last year that first-party Sony studios are in early development stages for PS4 games.  

Disney has confirmed that Epic Monkey 2 wil be available on PlayStation 3 this upcoming Christmas. The game will feature two-player co-op with playable characters Mickey and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. There will be several different story endings depending on the actions you take while you play.  

EA has announced that the release date for SSX has been pushed back. The snowboarding game was originally scheduled for a release on February 14, and is now scheduled in the U.S. on February 28, and in Europe on March 2. SSX Creative Director, Todd Batty, commented on the delay. “Over the course of more than 10 years of making games I have not worked on a single project where our team. 

Sony confirmed that Starhwawk’s closed beta will remain open until January 3. Following that there will be an open beta and Sony will reveal more details within the next few weeks. Those who have Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception will be able to use the access codes that came from the game to participate in the open beta. Starhawk is scheduled for a 2012 release.  

Sony has released the official PlayStation Vita launch lineup. There will be 25 games available for launch and each PS Vita will come with six AR Play Cards and a download voucher to have access to games from the PlayStation Network. Video game retailer GameStop sent out an automated phone call to consumers stating that The Last Guardian has been cancelled. Sony’s senior director of corporate communications, Patrick Seybold, responded and said that the game has not been cancelled. As previously reported the original creator Fumito Ueda left Sony in November, however stayed working on a contract basis to finish. 

Resistance 3 new DLC titled “Brutality Pack” will be available this week via PlayStation Store. The DLC will introduce a new gameplay mode, new weapon and a soundtrack from Mastadon. The new mode will take place in Wales and will see players trying to survive against wavs on enemies.  

EA Montreal is said to be at work on an Army of Two follow-up. The game is known as Arm of Four and it will include a four player co-op mode and is being developed using Frostbite 2 engine. Game development has apparently hit a standstill and EA Montreal is looking at bringing in DICE to help with the production. Arm of Four has not been officially announced yet.  

Spike TV posted a billboard advertisement in Times Square that teases the announcement of a new PlayStation 3 exclusive that would be revealed during Spike’s Video Game Awards on December 10. The billboard reads,”PS3 exclusive you won’t believe.” There has been speculation that the announcement could be for God of War 4. Another likely title would be Sony’s Smash Bros.  

Kotaku has reported that BioWare will be introducing a multiplayer component to the next Dragon Age title. The multiplayer could be in the form of arena battles against monsters and AI, or other human controlled opponents. Gamers would also be able to control a dragon according to sources. BioWare will be using DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine to develop the multiplayer component and is said.
