Evidently, Microsoft’s expensive DLC deal with Rockstar Games is finally over, meaning that episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV, which, up until now, has been exclusive to Xbox 360, is finally freed for release to other platforms.
“It’s been a long time coming, but we are proud to finally deliver Episodes from Liberty City for the PC and PlayStation 3,” announced Rockstar Games president Sam Houser in an official statement.
“We appreciate the patience of our PlayStation 3 and PC fans worldwide, and we look forward to putting the games in your hands this March,” he added.
Rockstar’s official confirmation comes after CVG reported that the Website of retailer SimplyGames had jumped the gun by mistakenly posting details outlining the imminent release of Episodes from Liberty City on Sony’s PlayStation 3 home console.
The Episodes from Liberty City package includes both of Rockstar’s critically acclaimed DLC packs (The Lost & Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony) on a single disc. The original Grand Theft Auto IV is not required as both episodes are free-standing games in their own right.
