Sony Talks About PlayStation 4 Being A Distraction

Published by:

President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America Jack Tretton commented in a interview with IGN about PlayStation 4 being a distraction for the company.

Tretton said that the release of PS4 will depend on Sony’s current platforms and how they perform.

“In terms of when you talk about [the next generation] and when you announce it, it really depends on the health of the existing platform and the other things you have going on,” Tretton said. “And right now, we’re focused on PlayStation 3, and I’ve got another platform (PS Vita) to get out the door in seven days, so I don’t want to be thinking about trying to launch new technology anytime soon. I want to focus all our energy on our console business, which is really just hitting its stride, and Vita, which really deserves a dedicated push from us.”

Tretton admitted he would be distracted if he had to discuss PlayStation 4 this year.

“I, quite frankly, would be very distracted if I had to be talking about next generation hardware this year.”

PS3 King of Fighters XIII Patch Released

Published by:

Rising Star Games released the highly anticipated patch for King of Fighters XIII. The new patch fixes several bugs from the online component.

-Ranked Match Filtering: One of the most requested additions, players may now set conditions for their opponent’s connection. When a player who doesn’t meet the standby conditions tries to enter the Ranked match, a warning message will be displayed and the match cancelled.

-Improved Filtering: Filtering functionality in general has seen dramatic improvements. Previously, certain connection data was not filtered sufficiently and the player had a chance of connecting to opponents with poor connection quality. Now, more aggressive filtering should ensure that players are only matched with opponents who meet their filter settings.

-Improved Connection Antenna: The computation behind the players’ connection antenna, the meter indicating the quality of a player’s connection, has been improved, resulting in a more accurate and consistent measurement.

-Temporarily Saved Custom Match Settings: Players may continue searching for opponents with the same settings as long as the player remains in the PLAYER MATCH/RANKED MATCH menu.

-Character-specific Bug Fixes: “NESTS-Style” Kyo and Iori with the Power of Flames no longer become unresponsive under certain circumstances.

-Additional refinements, fixes, and more.
